Tithing
Through the Habitat for Humanity International tithe program,
affiliates like Dayton Habitat are encouraged to donate a
percentage of what is raised to support building homes in other
countries. This encourages all programs to participate in the
international effort to eliminate global poverty by sharing a
portion of what is raised with another affiliate.
To support global missions, Dayton Habitat tithes a portion of our
undesignated gifts to an overseas affiliate. In addition to early
tithes to a general global fund, some recent global builds we have
tithed to include:
- Zambia
- Columbia
- Guatemala
- Jamaica
- Costa Rica
Donors (both individual and group) can designate their contributions to be used locally, or to a specific project with Dayton Habitat.
