Spring 2008 Build Kickoff

Dayton Ohio Habitat for Humanity held its annual Spring Build Kickoff and Volunteer Recognition on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 8am. Volunteers were warmed with bagels and coffee donated by Panera Bread despite temperatures in the 20s. A groundbreaking ceremony was held at 1711 Hannibal Court which will be the future home of Willia Thurman and family. Representatives from GE Money and MetLife, who are financial sponsors, as well as Ms. Thurman and children participated in the event. Following the groundbreaking, Volunteer All-Stars from 2007, both teams and individuals, were recognized for their outstanding work. After the kickoff, construction volunteers were given their orientation and safety training, and the building began.
