How old do you have to be to volunteer with Habitat?
The age of volunteers depends on the day and work being done. Due to the nature of construction work, there are limitations on what those under 18 may do. Youth age 16 and older can be on a build site most days; youth 14-15 may work on landscaping or painting days; off-site projects are suggested for youth under the age of 14. Please visit our Youth Involvement page for more information.
Is Women Build only open to women?
All are welcome! Women Build is not about excluding men; it is about empowering women. However, Women Build specifically seeks women volunteers in an effort to empower women, encouraging them to make a difference by building homes and communities. Over the years, the women volunteering have ranged from seasoned workers to local high school students learning how they can help make a difference.
Is the CtBS build only open to Catholics and Presbyterians?

My employer has a matching program, how does that work?
That's fantastic! Please contact Volunteer Services at volunteer@daytonhabtiat.org or call (937) 586-0860 ext. 16 to ask for a verification of hours. We can mail or email this directly to you or your employer to meet the requirements for the match.
